Mindfulness & Nervous System Regulation

A practical session to slow down, get grounded, and learn something you can actually use when your mind or body runs away with you.

Practical Regulation Skills in Naples, Florida

Sometimes understanding the problem only gets you so far.

You can know exactly what is happening and still feel wound up, frozen, scattered, checked out, or pulled toward an old coping behavior. This appointment gives you time to try practical skills with guidance and leave with something you can use again.

Choose What We Practice

A broad menu of skills. One session shaped around what you need.

The appointment can draw from DBT, mindfulness, body-based exercises, and relapse-prevention work. We choose what to try together and adjust as we go.

Common Questions

What to expect before scheduling.

Do I need meditation experience?

No experience is required. The practice can be brief, active, sensory, movement-based, breath-based, or quietly guided. We start with what is workable for you.

Is the meditation guided or silent?

Either format can be used. Most first sessions include active guidance so you can understand the practice and make adjustments. Silent time can be included when that fits your preference.

Is this DBT?

The session may include specific DBT skills such as TIPP, mindfulness, distress tolerance, and urge surfing. It is a single educational skills appointment rather than a comprehensive DBT treatment program.

What happens in a parts work meditation?

We slow down, notice the parts of you that are speaking up, and approach them with curiosity. The exercise focuses on awareness and self-compassion. Trauma processing and clinical treatment are outside this service.

Will I have to sit still with my eyes closed?

No. Practice can happen seated in an ordinary chair, standing, moving, looking around the room, or using sensory grounding. Eyes can remain open.

Can I schedule more than one session?

Yes. Some people want one session to learn a specific skill. Others schedule additional appointments to practice different approaches or refine what works.

Can this replace therapy or medical care?

This service is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, emergency care, or detoxification. People who need assessment, diagnosis, trauma treatment, ongoing clinical care, or medical support should use the appropriate service.
